“Life is not about waiting for the storm to pass, it’s learning how to dance in the rain.”
Hi! I’m Katie Hochleutner a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC), and Dance/Movement Therapist (R-DMT). I am dedicated to providing the space and support you need to reach your fullest potential. Coming from a body-based approach to therapy, I use the mind/body connection and a holistic perspective to assist you in navigating the speed bumps of life. During sessions, we focus on what your body is trying to tell you through slowing down and learning your own body’s language, thus fostering healing and promoting growth from within.
Whether you are needing to process past trauma, seeking support with depression and anxiety, or struggling with disordered eating, I am here to work alongside you in your journey to discover your truth. I am looking forward to meeting you and working with you on creating and living your ideal life.
There is more to an eating disorder than simply food. I approach eating disorders looking at what is underneath the surface and being able to navigate the layers underneath the relationship with food and examine the relationship with yourself.
Trauma is stored within the body. Using a body-based lens, I approach trauma with the intention of healing the body and mind from past experiences in order to find happiness in the future. With trauma work, safety is the number one priority.
When our bodies are at ease, our minds can release tension and vice versa. Sometimes words are not enough to express emotions or feelings, incorporating movement and tuning into body-felt experiences creates a greater palette for self-expression.
My style: Warm, empathetic, person-centered, trauma informed, and strengths-based.
My Framework: Somatic, dance/movement therapy, ACT, DBT, holistic.
Fast Facts: I love soaking up the sun, finding new outdoor adventures to explore, spending time with my Australian Shepherd, and of course having impromptu dance parties!
